Beauty is Pain

Had my weekly facial treatment earlier today. Extraction today hurts like MAAAAADD! The pain was tolerable last week, but today was just crazy. I could swore I felt tears streaming down my eyes, clenched my fist at tightly as I could just to bear the pain. Hurts the most when the consultant was extracting on my forehead. Felt like someone drilling through my skull (just a figure of speech. I wouldnt exactly know how it feels, would I?). Apart from asking Allah for strength (because I am dramatic like that), all I could think of in my head is "Beauty is Pain. Beauty is Pain.". It was on repeat mode mannn. But thank goodness that's done. For the week. I'm seeing results, so I should be happy right?

Post-extraction face. Those red bumps you see are the spots where extraction was done. The redness will subside overnight.

Oh, sorry. I got carried away. Light make-up on my face just to cover up the redness because I was heading to Town right after the treatment.

Oh before the "horror" started, I was lying down on the treatment bed waiting for my consultant. As usual, I was expecting her to come in and start with the usual routine. Today was a little different because when I opened my eyes I saw bright lights and a digi-camera just inches away from my face. I wish she would show me a few of the shots so I could see how bad my skin really is. oh well.

On a random note, the lady next door must have had a damn good facial because I could hear her snoring from where I was. herh.

now that i've received that call and was informed that i'm shortlisted, i've having second thoughts.

i know that when you start thinking twice, it's not what your heart desire. you might be doing something just for the sake of it. but at the end of the day, you're not gonna walk out happy. contented, maybe. but definitely not 'it's the best thing in my life ever'. i dont want that. i want to do something i like.

i'm never a religious mascara user. i keep forgetting that step. in fact, the only item that i DONT have in my make-up stash, is a mascara. but thanks to my sister who owns more mascaras than the number of eyes she have, i'm actually learning to perfect my mascara skills.
my eyelashes are hopeless on its own. there's no way, however, am i ever gonna "vibrate" my head like that!

When we're in polytechnic, they taught us how to write our own cover letters and resumes so that we can land a job easily. but even that wasnt comprehensive enough because till this day, i'm still struggling to present a good resume (or maybe i'm just dont have enough skills to make it look awesome).

One thing they didnt teach us in school was how to write a good personal statement. Call me dumb, but I have no idea what personal statement are until i decided to continue my studies. I've never been good in my writing skills. so to write 200 words why I should be selected, is quite a chore for me.

wooaahh.. i just spring-cleaned my 'links'.

and oh, oh.. my parents sold our 16GB iPhone. i wished they didnt. but really, who am i to stop them. nothing to lose anyway. ~~earned~~ profited themselves S$700, since we got the iPhone for free.

so what did we do with the money?
we went shopping! crazy Crocs sale last weekend. not a big fan of Crocs but i'm particularly interested in Alice. dirt cheap i tell you. Original price was S$54.95, went down by more then 50% to S$25. buuuuuuuuuuutt.. too bad my sizes were ALL sold out by the time i came. Size 7 is too common. so i ended up with a Prima which was selling for only S$15. better than empty-handed i guess.

i've gotten myself a Nikon D60, Dual Lens Kit.
i dont really know why i decided to get this, really. when i've made up my mind to just get a compact digital camera for now. so yeah.. i'm officially broke right now. like really damn broke.
been reading the manual to familiarize myself with the functions and buttons of the camera. been testing shots too..

but my favourite so far, has got to be this one..

Remember my entry, a few post back, about 6Feet's performance on Saturday, 23 August at East Coast Park?

Well, i went. and the show, a short play actually, was awesome!
it's so.. lively & energetic. worth the rain i had to walk under just to get to ECP. i came a little late, and missed the first show. but i'm glad they had two timings, so i managed to catch the second show at 6.30PM.

i cant believe i'm saying this in my blog, but yessss!

I AM MISSING MANNY.

so bad.

i havent seen/met him since Sheila's wedding.
which wasnt too long ago actually, about 9 days back only? but still!
we made a point to have, at least, dinner during his hectic ZARA days. but this is worse. 1. i cant text him. because his screen died on him few weeks back. 2. i cant call because i dont know when is the right time to. i leave for work before he wakes up. and when i'm done, he's already at Esplanade for his practice(s). he's too busy to pick up by then.

this has been the routine for the past nine days. not even a day missed. so hard working. it wasnt even like this before the crew's last competition. and just in case you're wondering
why they're spending hours perfecting their routine, 6Feet (or whatever they're calling themselves for this event) will be performing at East Coast Park this Saturday, 23 August 2008. Not sure for what's the event, but it'll start ~~6PM onwards~~ (i think?) 5PM thereabout!

that's the main purpose of this entry actually. heh heh.
Also, i've heard they'll be doing TWO performances. how about that!
So, if you'd like to know what they're up to recently, come on down..
You can have a little picnic to relax while you're at it.

okay, so i finally managed to catch Sex & the City last night.
i know, so lambat right.. havent got the time lahh.
didnt wanna go initially. too lazy to travel to town late at night. but thank goodness Ayu bought the tickets without confirming with me, 'cause the movie was really gooood. it was the last screening, islandwide. so i guess it wasnt totally a waste of time. even though we had to run/walk really fast to the nearest busstop so we woudnt miss the last bus home.

so its me and ayu nowadays.
i'm loving her company right now. 'cause her place was only three busstops away. just like last Saturday when she needed to attend a dinner but ermm.. her dress wasnt quite ready yet. so i told her to go home, freshen up and doll her pretty face. and i'll deliver it when it's done.

which i did. braved myself and walk under the hot blazin' sun all the way to her place, 10 mins before she was due to leave her house. power kan.

i already planned my day pretty well, but manny HAD to rush me 'cause he left his crew t-shirt at home. so i woke up from my afternoon nap, showered and got ready really quickly. i didnt even put any make-up on. hop into a taxi and ride all the way to Woodlands with his mom in my short dress. yepp, his mom. who was at my place for tailoring class.

i fell down on the escalator. and i was alone.

i hurt my toe, and i only realised it was bleeding so profusely when i was in the car.

so i promised an entry.
i almost got lazy to type anything, like i always do. but i checked my hotmail (like finally!) and saw the pictures manny sent me. i just gotta post these up..

so we went to the ZOO, to celebrate his twentieth.
an almost impromptu plan. 'cause i almost lose all hope of him getting the day off. we're supposed to meet at 10AM, my place.
